We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded New Business Manager to join our growing global business development team in India. You will work closely with marketing, senior leadership, and operational teams to help expand PharSafer’s client base and strengthen our position within the global life-sciences sector.

PharSafer® is a specialist Pharmacovigilance and Medical Services CRO, headquartered in the United Kingdom with offices in India. Due to continued expansion, we are seeking committed commercial professionals to join our India office. This role is home-based within India and offers the flexibility of remote working while contributing to commercial development across multiple regulated service areas.

Role Overview

As a New Business Manager, you will play a key part in identifying and developing new commercial opportunities across PharSafer’s global client base. You will be involved throughout the business development lifecycle, from initial prospecting and first contact through to proposal preparation, bid support, and the smooth handover of new opportunities to operational teams. Your contribution will directly support long-term commercial growth and ensure prospects progress efficiently and professionally.

You will collaborate closely with senior leadership, the wider business development team, marketing, and operational colleagues. This joined-up approach ensures commercial activity remains aligned with strategic objectives and delivered consistently across regions. The role spans multiple sectors and international markets, which provides broad exposure to commercial strategy, service positioning, and client engagement within a highly regulated industry.

This position provides a strong pathway for development and will involve responsibilities such as:

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage prospective clients across pharmaceutical, biotech, ATMP, medical device, and cosmetic sectors.
  • Collaborate with marketing to support the development and execution of strategic sales plans designed to meet growth targets.
  • Conduct due diligence on potential clients, including mapping key decision-makers and evaluating service needs and budget considerations.
  • Support the preparation and submission of bids for new business, including analysis of successful bids and reasons for losses.
  • Carry out gap-fill assessments for existing clients and support improvements to service delivery and commercial performance.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure smooth project implementation and aligned commercial delivery.
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing commercial proposals, pricing models, and contract documentation.
  • Monitor and report on sales activity, market trends, and competitor actions, providing insights to the Sales Director and/or CEO.
  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to increase visibility and expand professional networks.
  • Maintain awareness of industry regulations, guidelines, and sector developments and integrate these insights into commercial planning.
  • Contribute to cross-departmental collaboration to ensure that client needs are met and services comply with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Essential

  • Strong work ethic and excellent organisational skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence engaging stakeholders.
  • Good level of IT competency and willingness to learn pharmacovigilance-related systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to travel when required.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement.

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in B2B sales, ideally within niche or highly regulated service industries.
  • Pharmaceutical or life-science experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided
